Natural Dog Company is in search of an innovative Head Merchant / Product Line Manager and developer to lead the go-to-market strategy from scoping product development to launching new features and growing our overall user base. This person will serve as a key member of our leadership team that initiates, leads, contributes, and delivers new product introductions and business continuity support.

  • Fully remote position - candidates can apply from any state in the U.S.
  • Required, company-paid, week-long onsite events in our Charlotte, NC corporate office roughly 2-4 times per year


  • Plan, lead, and manage projects to drive product innovation and develop and deliver advanced solutions from the ideation stage to scale-up
  • Continuous review of certifications and/or applications in the market for increased product stability and competition
  • Successfully evaluate existing SKU health
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis, including but not limited to forecasting and segmentation
  • Provide strategic analyses and recommendations based on market trends
  • Identify and translate customer needs into deliverables
  • Analyze data critically, draw conclusions, and recommend go and no-go decisions to senior leadership
  • Standardize and institute best practices where possible
  • Evaluate and submit on-time, accurate development product costing in adherence to critical calendar milestones and margin goals

You are welcome to apply if you meet the following Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Product Development, Marketing, or a related field
  • Proven product development experience
  • Understand the early stages of defining and discovering new products, as well as improving existing live products
  • Extensive experience that demonstrates the ability to research, compile, and document data, business processes, and workflow
  • Advanced skill interpreting and synthesizing large amounts of information
  • Present findings, conclusions, alternatives, and information clearly and concisely
  • Demonstrate thought-leadership, initiative-taking, effective decision-making and creative problem solving
  • Significant experience in problem resolution including determining root cause, scope, and scale of issues
  • Additional tasks as needed – We have a tight-knit team and “that’s not my job” doesn’t exist here

While not required, we also look for the following Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the pet/dog industry is a major plus
  • Experience working within a NASC-registered organization, knowledge of NASC compliance, etc.
